Voter ID

Remember to take the right ID with you to the polls:

Photo ID

  • Ohio driver’s license or State ID.  The ID can have either your current or former address, as long as the ID has not expired and your voter registration shows your current address, or
  • Other Ohio or U.S. government photo ID showing your name and current address.

Other ID that shows your name and current address:

  • military ID (doesn’t need to show current address if it shows Social Security Number),
  • copy of a utility bill (e.g., water, sewer, gas, electricity, cable, cell-phone),
  • bank statement,
  • paycheck,
  • government check, or
  • local, state or federal government document (including from public college or university).

You cannot use the notice you received from the Board of Elections as ID.  Although most voters show their driver’s licenses, photo ID is not required.
